Silver Springs Archery Range grand opening on June 18

The grand opening of Marion County’s new Silver Springs Archery Range will be on June 18 at 9 a.m.

The new archery range will have a wide selection of ranges and targets.

The primary focus of the range is on three-dimensional (3D) targets – lifelike foam animal targets placed in woodland settings to mimic a hunting environment for archers.

The Silver Springs Archery Range will have two complete 3D ranges with 15 targets a piece as well as a year-round 3D practice range with up to 15 additional targets, according to Marion County Parks and Recreation.

The targets will be official targets used by the Archery Shooters Association (ASA).

The range will also feature a four-target, Olympic-style range with targets set between 20 and 100 yards, with additional targets to allow speed bow and crossbow shooting.

The facility will be operated in partnership with the Silver Springs Archery Club.

The Archery Range will be located at 5227 NE 35th Street in Silver Springs.
