Off-duty Ocala Police Department sergeant finds patrol car window shattered

An Ocala Police Department sergeant says his patrol vehicle window was shattered in front of his home while he was walking around his neighborhood with his son while off duty.

On June 11, the OPD sergeant says he returned to his home after a short walk around the neighborhood with his son and observed his patrol vehicle’s side rear window had been shattered.

The sergeant observed broken glass debris on the outer window ledge. He reported he was unable to locate any evidence or signs of forced entry, according to the incident report.

The sergeant has no video surveillance cameras and did not observe anyone in the area.

The damage is approximately $400. Photos of the damage were uploaded to a case file, the report states.
