Ocala man barricades woman inside home, refuses to exit after police arrive

An Ocala woman claimed a man threatened to shoot her and barricaded her inside their home when she tried to leave.

Marion County Sheriff Office units were called to the residence on Wednesday, June 16 in reference to a domestic fight.

The victim claimed 42-year-old Corby Richardson threatened to shoot her with a gun during an argument after she came from work and found him sleeping with multiple beer cans in the trash. The victim claimed Richardson began calling her a “whore” and when she began packing her bags to leave, Richardson barricaded the doors and started grabbing his guns. The victim claimed Richardson placed all the firearms in the living room and stated, “the cops are not taking me again,” according to the sheriff’s report.

The victim reported while she was on the phone with 911, she grabbed her bag and left.

Multiple units responded to the incident location and Richardson would not exit the home, the report stated.

Richardson was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $5,000. He was charged with aggravated assault and a court date is set for July 20 at 9:00 a.m., jail records show.
