Man with four previous battery convictions arrested after allegedly attacking woman who refused to turn over car keys

A man with four previous battery convictions was arrested after allegedly attacking a woman who refused to hand over her car keys.

According to a report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, a victim claims she and 50-year-old Shannon Dailey got into an argument over the keys to the truck and other issues on June 20.

After a brief struggle for the keys, the victim claims Dailey stomped on her foot, pushed her, and slapped her across the face.

The reporting MCSO deputy says he observed the top of the victim’s foot to be swollen with a large lump, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Dailey claims he dropped headphones on the victim’s foot after an argument. He said the headphones caused the injury to the victim’s foot. Dailey denied pushing the victim, according to the report.

Dailey has four prior battery convictions in reference to domestic violence, according to the report.

Dailey was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $1,000. He was charged with battery and resisting an officer. A court date is set for July 20 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
