Ocala man arrested after allegedly choking, threatening to ‘end’ woman’s life

An Ocala man was charged with domestic battery after a victim claimed he choked her and elbowed her in the face when she came home from dinner with friends.

On June 15, the victim says 38-year-old Gregory Scoville elbowed her in the face and strangled her at her home. The victim says she came home from dinner with her friends when she saw her home destroyed. The victim claims she was standing behind Scoville when he elbowed her in the face, according to the sheriff’s report.

The victim claimed Scoville stated if he was going to jail, it would be for a reason, and he would “end her life” to make it a real reason. The victim claimed Scoville placed his hands around her throat and cut off her air way, according to the report.

A Marion County Sheriff’s officer reported he observed a bump on the victim’s forehead and redness around her neck.

Scoville claimed the victim came home and slapped him, and that he was trying to defend himself, according to the report.

Scoville was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $2,000. He was charged with domestic battery with a court date is set for July 20 at 9:00 a.m., jail records show.
