Marion County officially opened the Silver Springs Archery Range on June 18.
The new facility offers archery enthusiasts a wide selection of ranges and targets, with two complete three-dimensional ranges to simulate bow hunting and an Olympic-style range with targets between 20 and 100 yards.
The facility was developed out of a partnership with Marion County Utilities and Marion County Parks and Recreation, converting a decommissioned water treatment facility into a 60-acre space for outdoor recreation.
The range will be operated in partnership with the Silver Springs Archery Club. Members will have unlimited access to the facility, and the range will be open to the public on Thursday evenings.
