Ocala man arrested for stabbing tire after argument with woman

An Ocala man was recently arrested after he admitted to stabbing a vehicle tire during an argument in which a victim asked him to exit her vehicle.

On June 20 multiple units responded to a victim who says she was driving down the road and arguing with 36-year-old Adonis Hawthorne, when she decided to pull over and tell Hawthorne to exit the vehicle.

The victim says that she went to the back of the vehicle and started removing Hawthorne’s belongings. She claims Hawthorne became upset and stabbed her vehicle tire with a knife, causing permanent damage and a flat tire, according to the sheriff’s report.

The victim said she was able to return to her mother’s home where an emergency call was placed.

Hawthorne, who was located at a local gas station, admitted to stabbing the tire, according to the report. He was arrested and charged with criminal mischief before being transferred to the Marion County Jail. He had no set bond. Hawthorne has a court date set for September 27 at 2 p.m., jail records show.
