Storming Crab seafood restaurant making swift progress at former Ruby Tuesday’s location

A new seafood restaurant is making swift progress at the former location of Ruby Tuesday’s.

Storming Crab is working on renovating the space, which is located in southwest Ocala at 3500 SW College Road.

According to its website, the company currently has 18 locations open across the United States and 5 that are currently under construction.

The Ocala location will be the company’s flagship restaurant in Florida, and one of only a handful in the southeastern United States. The only other state in the southeast with Storming Crab restaurants is Tennessee.

Storming Crab joins a collection of new seafood restaurants that have opened local restaurants in the past couple of years.

Red Crab Juicy Seafood opened its Ocala location in 2019 at the former Crisper’s location at 2604 SW 19th Avenue Road. The company currently operates 11 locations around the state of Florida,

In 2020, Shuckin’ Shack opened the doors on their location at Market Street at Heath Brook in southwest Ocala.

Storming Crab takes over a location that was closed last year by its previous tenant, Ruby Tuesday’s, as part of a collection of nationwide closures in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
