Man tries to flee scene while driving with a suspended license

An Ocala man was recently arrested for trying to flee the scene after he was caught driving with a suspended license.

On June 29, a Marion County Sheriff’s officer recognized a silver Nissan and the driver, 26-year-old Mickale Foard, to not have a valid driver license. Foard was previously issued two uniform citations for operating a motor vehicle with an expired tag and a suspended license, according to the sheriff’s report.

The vehicle was reported traveling on SE Maricamp Road and when a deputy activated his siren lights, Foard continued to travel and did not stop his vehicle. A deputy set up stop sticks and the vehicle eventually stopped. Foard traveled more than one mile without stopping for law enforcement commands to stop his vehicle, the report stated.

Foard was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $2,500. Foard was charged with a moving traffic violation and fleeing police.  A court date is set for August 3 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
