Massachusetts man arrested with THC in Ocala church parking lot

A man who was stopped at a local church in reference to trespassing was arrested after an officer found THC in his vehicle.

On June 27 an Ocala Police Department officer responded to St Paul AME Church in reference to trespassing.

The officer located a Honda with a Massachusetts tag parked in the parking lot of the church. The driver, 49-year-old Jerry Rosario, said he was not from the area and claimed he got lost trying to find an address, according to the incident report.

During a search of the vehicle, the officer found a vape pen and a green leafy substance. Rosario stated he grows marijuana in Massachusetts where it is legal. The leafy substance tested positive for THC, the report stated.

Rosario was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $10,000. He was charged with marijuana possession not more than 20 grams and possession of a controlled substance (THC). A court date is set for July 27 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
