Ocala man facing aggravated assault charge arrested for contacting victim

A 75-year-old man who is facing an aggravated assault charge after allegedly pointing a gun at a victim, was arrested after breaking a restraining order.

On June 28, the victim contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to report a violation of a temporary domestic violence injunction, or restraining order, filed previously.

The victim reported she had two phone calls from 75-year-old Curtis Lowinske who was arrested on June 21 for aggravated domestic assault after allegedly pointing a gun at the victim.

The victim said she had a missed call from Lowinske on June 27 and a sixteen second voicemail stating, “I am pretty weak,” according to the incident report.

On June 25 a temporary injunction was served to Lowinske stating he shall have no contact with the victim, the report stated.

An officer responded to the La Quinta Motel and located Lowinske. Lowinske claimed he called the victim to tell her he withdrew $3,500 from the bank account so she would not overdraft the account, according to the report.

Lowinske was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with no set bond. He was charged with contempt of court and conditional release violation. He has a court date is set for August 5 at 8 a.m., jail records show.
