Ocala attorney suspended 18 months by Florida Supreme Court for failed RV theft

An Ocala attorney was suspended from practicing law for 18 months by the Florida Supreme Court after he pled no contest to grand theft charges.

Damien Aranguren, who operates law out of 725 East Silver Springs Boulevard according to Florida Bar records, was suspended 18 months and placed on probation for one year by the Florida Supreme Court. The court is in charge of disciplining attorneys across the state of Florida who have committed violations of the Florida Bar rules.

Aranguren was arrested a year ago after he reportedly tried to steal an RV from the driveway of a residence.

According to the decision by the Florida Supreme Court, “on or about March 10, Aranguren entered pleas of to three felony counts of Grand Theft (Statutory Theft) and two misdemeanor counts involving trespass.”

The court withheld adjudication as to all counts and sentenced Aranguren to two years of conditional probation as to the felony counts and to credit for time served as to the misdemeanor counts.

Aranguren studied law at Stetson University and the University of Central Florida, according to his Facebook profile.
