Former Maine residents say Ocala has more gas stations, car washes, fast food restaurants than they’ve ever seen

To the Editor:

Myself and my husband and sons are year round residents in Ocala, Marion County. We love it here and purchased a home six months ago.

We moved from the northeast like lots of folks here from a little town in Maine. Our shopping area was Portsmouth, New Hampshire. We definitely all have noticed there are more gas stations, car washes and fast food restaurants than any other place I have been.

I am a flight attendant and travel often. We would be so happy to see a corporate company like BJ’s Whoelsale Club, Costco, Whole Foods, or Trader Joe’s come to our area.

Any of those establishments would be amazing for local people to shop. Sam’s Club is too crowded and the quality isn’t very good, even though I am a member because it’s all we have in Ocala.

Please consider these establishments for the growth of the area and for the people.

Thank you and have a wonderful day,
Marcy and Stuart Santoro
