Jose Ramon Mojica, 87, of Ocala, Florida passed away at Advent Health of Ocala on July 8, 2021.
He was born February 26, 1934, the son of the late Juan and Felicita Mojica. Jose was a native of Juncos, Puerto Rico before moving to the Ocala area from New York City over 20 years ago. Jose was married to his loving wife, Maribel, and together the two shared 42 years of love and happiness. Jose attended the First Assembly of God and was a dedicated member. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his family. Jose worked hard to provide for his family and in his free time, he enjoyed music and even played the trumpet. Everyone who knew Jose knew he would always have a smile on his face!
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Maribel; his children, Elsie Mojica, Jose R. Mojica, Sr., Sonia Mojica, Jose Luis Mojica, and Jacqueline Mojica; grandchildren, Angel Luis Rodriguez, Fernando Gonsalez, Yamil O’Neil Figueroa, C’Nyah M. Dempsey, Rebeca Alicea, Ciomara Alicea, and Jose Mojica; siblings, Carmen Mojica and Marta Acevedo; and many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Maribel Mojica.
A funeral service for Jose will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, TimberRidge (9695 SW 110th Street, Ocala, FL 34480) on Wednesday, July 14 at 1:00pm with Pastor Isaias Rodriguez officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens.
