Ocala man arrested after allegedly threatening to kill woman with pocketknife

An Ocala man was recently arrested after a woman claims the man threatened to kill her with a pocketknife and forced a pillow against her face at a hotel.

On July 14, Marion County Sheriff Office deputies responded to the Cracker Barrel located at 13561 SW 17th Court in reference to an aggravated assault.

The victim claims 24-year-old Billy Abney threatened to kill her with his pocketknife following an argument.

The victim says she and Abney had been arguing over their arrival in Ocala and claims he pointed a pocketknife at her. The victim says she ran from the area and posted on Facebook that she needed help. The victim says she then ran to the Cracker Barrell and called 911, according to the report.

The victim further claims on July 13 at the Comfort Inn and Suites, there was another incident of domestic violence where Abney placed a pillow over her head and suffocated her, the report stated.

Abney denied the allegations and stated he didn’t do it “this time,” according to the report. A criminal history check revealed Abney has two prior battery convictions.

Abney was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with no set bond. He is charged with aggravated assault and battery.
