The City of Ocala is looking for nominations for the upcoming Mary Sue Rich Diversity Awards.
The City of Ocala’s Racial Harmony and Cultural Awareness Task Force (REACH) is now accepting nominations for the Mary Sue Rich Diversity Award. The deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. on August 15.
Presented annually since 2003, these awards are given to those who promote racial harmony and equality, raise cultural awareness and/or celebrate diversity in Ocala/Marion County, according to the City of Ocala.
Honorees will be recognized at the annual Unity Breakfast held in October.
Four awards will be presented in the following categories:
- Individual
- Unsung Hero
- Organization/Non-Profit
- Business
Hard copies of the nomination form can be picked up and submitted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department located at 828 NE Eighth Ave. Electronic copies of the nomination form can be downloaded from the REACH Ocala Marion website.
