Light Up Ocala in need of vendors, parade participants

Light Up Ocala is looking for vendors and parade participants for the 37th installment of its annual event this fall.

This year’s event will return to Downtown Ocala on Saturday, November 20, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The city of Ocala is currently looking for vendors and participants for its Junior Sunshine Christmas Parade.

Vendor booths are being offered in a few different sizes and start for as little as $30 for non-profit organizations. The deadline for all vendors to apply is Friday, August 20, 2021. According to city records, vendors will receive a final notification on the status of their application by Friday, September 3, 2021.

Parade participants will line up at the corner of SE Magnolia Ave. and SE Fort King St. near the Marion Theatre before proceeding through Downtown Ocala. All those who wants to participate in the parade must submit an application no later than Friday, October 8, 2021. All those who are permitted to participate will be notified by Monday, October 11, 2021.

Last year, Light Up Ocala and the Ocala Christmas Parade were both cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In May, the Friends of the Ocala Christmas Parade announced that the group will move forward with their annual parade.
