A 66-year-old Ocala man was arrested after allegedly choking a victim because the television was too loud while he was singing.
On Thursday, July 15, a victim reports she and 66-year-old Larry Lee were in a verbal argument that turned physical. The victim says Lee started singing while she was watching television in the living room, and she turned the volume up to hear it better. The victim claims Lee became upset and grabbed her by the neck. The victim claims Lee started to choke her and she was eventually able to separate from Lee, according to the sheriff’s report.
A witness claims he saw Lee grab the victim by her neck with both hands and start to choke her. The witness claims he told Lee to get off the victim but he would not listen, the report states.
Lee admitted to placing his hands on the victim but claims he only touched her shoulder and nothing happened after that, according to the report.
Lee was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with no set bond. He is charged with domestic battery by strangulation and probation violation. A court date is set for August 11 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
