Ocala Drive-In looking for pickup truck driver who sped through, damaged facility

A local movie landmark is looking for the public’s help to identity the driver of a pickup truck that it says sped through its lot and put children in harm’s way.

The Ocala Drive-In, which is located at 4850 S Pine Avenue, recently posted about the incident through social media and provided a description of the individual in question. The company also provided the following image of the vehicle in question:

“This person circled the parking lot at an extremely high speed, taking out several poles, almost running over some children and running over the toys they were playing with,” reads a Facebook post. It says the individual “took out about 60-feet of the front fence” before it jumped the ditch, crossed the highway, and took out a section of fence before heading south on Pine Avenue.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, along with similar theaters across the country, the Ocala Drive-In received national acclaim for being able to offer its services with only a few minor adjustments.

At the same time across Ocala, multiple theaters were forced to close their doors for extended periods of time.

The Ocala Drive-In asks that anyone with information about the owner of the vehicle reach out to drive-in owner directly at 321-368-9529.
