An Ocala woman is facing cruelty towards children charges after two juvenile victims claim she slapped and choked them.

On July 18, a juvenile victim reports that 35-year-old Rosanna Oday had been drinking for a few days. The juvenile victim, along with other juveniles, reports they left the home to walk to another home, to get away from Oday. The juveniles reported when they returned home, Oday yelled at them and damaged the lights in their bedroom. The juveniles also claim Oday hit them, according to the sheriff’s report.

One of the children who claims she and her sister tried to leave the home to get away from Oday, says Oday wrapped her arm around her neck and choked her. A Marion County Sheriff’s deputy observed a bruise around the right side of the juvenile’s neck, the report stated.

The sister said when she tried to help the juvenile victim, Oday slapped her several times. The deputy observed a bruise on the right side of the sister’s face, the report states.

Oday denied any physical altercation took place, the report states.

Oday was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $10,000. She is charged with cruelty towards children. A court date is set for August 17 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
