Hoosac is a 12-year teaching veteran and a Dunnellon High School graduate.

Get Your Teach On is a professional development organization for educators and leads conferences for education. The organization bills itself as a “hub for sharing strategies and instructional practices to uplift all students.”
The nomination-based competition was held nationwide and Hoosac was the only Marion County Public School representative selected in the Top 25.
A GYTO selection committee further narrowed that group to a Top 10, from which Hoosac was selected as the winner.
As the 2021 Gold Star Teacher of the Year, Hoosac will receive a three-day Disney vacation for two (including airfare and hotel stay), a $200 Imaginex Ears gift card, a $1,000 “Really Good Stuff” gift card, a College Football Playoff Foundation Extra Yard for Teachers prize pack and a cash scholarship for her classroom.
