The Young Professionals of Ocala business networking organization raised $300 for the Dignity Center earlier this month at a networking event hosted by a local nonprofit.
On Wednesday, July 21, members of the organization gathered at the Dignity Center located at 833 North Magnolia Avenue.
During the event, volunteers assembled over 10,000 parts for ClosetMaid to raise the money for the center, which is an extension of Wear Gloves, Inc.
The Young Professionals of Ocala meet regularly for networking and service meetings. The group will host an Axe Throwing Event later this summer. For more information on that event, or membership to the organization, visit the Young Professionals of Ocala Facebook page.
Founded in 2009, Wear Gloves Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides work to those in need looking to obtain specific goals or items. The organization operates the Dignity Center, where those in need can earn what they need and “break the cycle of dependency,” according to its website.
“If a person needs a bike, tent, work boots, or whatever, they can come into the center and work for that need.”
