Horse Fever statue ‘Slugger’ to celebrate new home at Ocala Rotary Sportsplex

One of the popular Horse Fever statutes will be unveiled at a new, fitting home in southeast Ocala.

Marion County Parks & Recreation will unveil “Slugger,” a Horse Fever 2020 horse, at Rotary Sportsplex on Monday, August 2 at 8 a.m.

Painted by local artist Gene Hotaling and sponsored through anonymous donations, Slugger’s baseball theme highlights the Ocala Rotary Sportsplex being selected to host tournaments within the Cal Ripken World Series.

Slugger is one of the many unique horses added to the community through the Marion Cultural Alliance’s Horse Fever 2020 campaign.

The Rotary Sportsplex is located at 5220 SE Maricamp Rd, Ocala, FL 34480.
