Ocala Civic Theatre hosting youth production of ‘Narnia’ this weekend

The Summer S.T.A.G.E. 2021 youth production of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is live on-stage starting Friday, July 30 through August 1, at Ocala Civic Theatre.

Performances are on Friday and Saturday begin at 7 p.m., while Sunday’s show begins at 2 p.m.

The show is presented by a cast of 25 young artists ages eight through sixteen.

The show is based on the movie and popular book, Chronicles of Narnia, written by C.S. Lewis. It tells the tale four children who step through a magical old wardrobe and wander into the land of Narnia, which is under the White Witch’s spell of eternal winter. Through their journey, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy meet the many mystical creatures of Narnia. But soon, the children’s adventures lead to the return of Aslan the great lion, who faces off with the witch in an epic battle of good against evil.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for ages 18 and younger. People can purchase tickets over the phone at (352) 236-2274 or in person at the box office Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
