An Ocala man is currently in jail for spray painting a mural on a road without Marion County’s permission.
On July 26, a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy responded to Bahia Road in reference to a man spray painting the road.
The witness said he observed 26-year-old Mickale Foard taking a picture of red spray paint on the road. The witness said Foard stated he spray painted the road because he was “making a mural,” according to the sheriff’s report.
The county assistant engineer was contacted, and he said he would press charges. The engineer reported the cost to repair and remove the spray paint would be $2,500, according to the report.
Foard claims he thought it was legal due to seeing others make murals on public streets in different states, the report stated.
Foard was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $2,000. He is charged with felony criminal mischief.
