CF Foundation receives $5,000 donation from Senior Learners

The College of Central Florida Foundation received a $5,000 donation from Senior Learners Inc. to support the CF Community School of the Arts program and Appleton Museum of Art.

Since 2014, Senior Learners has made charitable donations totaling more than $50,000 in support of college art programs.

“I love the commitment Senior Learners Inc. has for education,” said Chris Knife, vice president of Development and CEO of the CF Foundation. “Their continued backing of the College of Central Florida through the Foundation exemplifies their focus of supporting educational opportunities for community members of all ages.”

On August 27, Knife and CF President James Henningsen will welcome seniors back to the Ocala Campus at the Senior Learners’ Free Fall Term Kickoff Party.

Senior Learners, Inc. is a non-profit organization run by volunteers that provides educational opportunities to students over 50-year-old. Before the pandemic, the group offered noncredit, college-level courses in a classroom at the Ocala Campus of the College of Central Florida before it shifted to online courses. It will return to in-person classes for the upcoming school year.

“This September, Senior Learners will resume in-person classes on the CF Ocala Campus and also continue with online class options via Zoom,” said Rich Hautanen, president of Senior Learners.
