Mutiny nearing end of renovations for new downtown Ocala pirate-themed bar

Mutiny is nearing the end of renovations on its new pirate-themed bar in downtown Ocala.

The business is currently finishing up renovation of its new space at 46 S Magnolia Avenue, next door to its sister bar, Tipsy Skipper. According to the company’s social media profiles, both bars will be connected once construction of Mutiny is complete.

Earlier this summer, the bar announced that it was hiring for all positions. Unlike its sister bar, Mutiny will offer food in addition to craft cocktails.

Mutiny joins a long list of businesses currently renovating or constructing new spaces in downtown Ocala.

Crews have been working steadily on the new three-story building that will house Mellow Mushroom, as well as another restaurant and a rooftop bar.

Symmetry Cafe and Soleil Confections are teaming up together for a new cafe in a location formerly occupied by Sovereigns and Scoundrels, which closed its doors earlier this year.

Later this year, Cantina hopes to open the doors on its new Tex-Mex restaurant and tequila bar. This week, crews began working on exterior renovations of the building.

Over the past two years, the downtown Ocala area has seen an explosion in commercial business growth, with the additions of two speakeasies in Anti-Monopoly Drug Store and the Thirsty Cobbler, as well as Bank Street Patio Bar, Big Hammock Brewery, Black Sheep on Broadway, and Morevino.
