Walter Harold Donahue passed away on July 26, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.  Harold was born in Ocala, Florida on June 7, 1939, to Doris Proctor Smith Donahue and Walter “Buster” Smith.

Growing up, he played Little League baseball, high school and junior college basketball, and was a member of the Florida National Guard until 1963.  He and Linda Park Donahue were married on August 30, 1963, and had two sons, Steven and John.  After graduating from the University of Florida School of Pharmacy in 1963, Harold interned under Neil Bitting at Bitting’s Pharmacy. He later purchased the 17th Street pharmacy where he worked until he retired.

Harold was an avid runner and bicyclist, completing several 100+ mile rides and influencing many tandem riders in Ocala.  He enjoyed college sports, especially the University of Florida basketball, football and softball teams.  He loved woodworking and building birdhouses for his wife, Linda.

Harold is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda, sons, Steven (Nancy) and John (Laura), beloved grandchildren, Faith and Zachary, brothers, Patrick Donahue, Michael Donahue and Jim Smith, and sisters, Kathy Ross, Kitty Hollingsworth and Pam Hamilton, as well as many nieces and nephews.
