To the Editor:
Two electricians and a general contractor, and a fence guy all walk into a bar.
Cruddy beginning to a joke. And I can’t think of a good joke to let that be the beginning.
We see these guys all being friendly. Going to the same events. Running at the same time and if elected they’d be the majority every time. I mean if the contractor recuses himself, ok now you still have a good shot of his pals voting yes. Oh they sit it out also? Is 1 or 2 men a quorum for Council now?
I’m curious because they even share signs. I have seen them on the same 2×4 stands in the City. This is outrageous and should not be allowed to pass. There should be laws against this sort of thing. It’s not their jobs I am criticizing or their businesses, just they seem to be running together for their respective offices and paired with that financial interest. It just doesn’t seem right to me. They won’t even say they will stop bidding public jobs at forums. No wonder they are running for office! They have clearly known and liked each other for a long time even if two of them are in the same business. It just all seems off to me but what do I know after 40 years of watching good old boys around these parts.
