The Florida Department of Health in Marion County will hold diabetes self-management classes beginning on Monday, September 13 at the Belleview Public Library.
The library is located at 13145 SE County Highway 484. Classes will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. each Monday through October 25.
The hands-on classes will help residents learn more about diabetes by teaching changes to daily habits that could help control the disease. Class instructors will cover understanding diabetes, caring for the diabetic body, risk factors, monitoring blood sugar, meal planning, physical activity, preventing complications, medications and medical care, according to health officials.
