Silver Springs State Park volunteers in need of golf cart donations

A local non-profit is looking for the public’s help to attain a golf cart to keep Silver Springs State Park clean.

The Friends of Silver Springs State Park nonprofit organization is in need of golf cart donations as its current golf carts reach “the end of their life,” according to a social media post from the group.

The Friends of Silver Springs State Park is comprised of volunteers and resident campground hosts that help maintain the facilities.

The group says golf carts are “essential” for volunteers to maneuver efficiently throughout the park and conduct a variety of services. Volunteers use golf carts at least five to six hours a day, every day, to pick up trash, clean fire pits, and blow leaves, among other tasks.

The group says it welcomes donations of “battery powered carts with newer batteries, preferably less than 5 years old, and in full working condition.”

Friends of Silver Springs State Park is a nonprofit 501©(3) citizen support organization dedicated to supporting the park through volunteering, fundraising, and in-kind donations. Your golf cart donation may be tax deductible.

In 2020, the group was able to purchase the following two golf carts.
