Leesburg woman arrested after multi-county pursuit in stolen vehicle

A 22-year-old Leesburg woman was arrested after a multi-county pursuit in a vehicle that was reported stolen.

On August 31, a deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the area of Krazy 8 Bar, located at 20290 SE 142nd Place, to assist a Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputy with a pursuit that had entered Marion County.

According to the report, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a green Mazda sedan that they lost sight of as it entered Marion County. The deputy was attempting to pull over the Mazda after he noticed the driver and another driver in a red 2019 Dodge Caravan had been switching positions while the vehicles were parked next to each other.

While the deputies from the different sheriff’s offices were speaking, the Dodge Caravan appeared on the scene. The MCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop and was notified by dispatch that the van was listed as stolen out of the Orlando Police Department.

All of the occupants of the vehicle were detained in handcuffs. The passengers indicated that the driver, 22-year-old Amber Angle, had picked them up in the van and that they were not aware the van was reported stolen.
