The Ocala/Marion County Veterans Memorial Park will host a ceremony to commemorate the lives of those lost during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The park will host a special 20th anniversary commemoration event on September 11 starting at 8:30 a.m.
The event will feature local government officials including Marion County Commissioner Kathy Bryant, Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn, and Marion County Fire Rescue Chief James Banta, among others.
After guest speakers, a placement of wreaths will take place, followed by a bell ceremony, rifle volley, and ghost taps. A flyover will be performed by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Air 1.
The Ocala/Marion County Veterans Memorial Park is located at 2601 E Fort King Street in Ocala.
