A 49-year-old Salt Springs man was arrested after allegedly sending threatening texts to a victim and attempting to gain entry into her home to assault her.
A Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of a burglary at a residence in Salt Springs on Monday evening. While en route to the scene, the victim reported that Brian Green was allegedly attempting to gain access into her residence.
The victim claims that Green sent a series of threatening text messages stating he was going to show up at her door and attack her. After the text messages stopped, the victim says approximately one hour later, Green showed up outside of the home and tried to force his way into the residence.
A witness confirmed the victim’s account and says both he and the victim were scared for their lives. Both the witness and the victim allege that Green appeared as if he was going to enter the residence and fight them, according to the report.
The deputy observed multiple cuts in the front door which were caused by a blunt edge weapon.
According to the report, Green claims he had a text conversation with the victim, but says he never threatened harm.
Green was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail. His bond was set at $25,000. He faces two counts of attempted burglary with domestic assault/battery.
