Cantina seeking council approval for liquor sales at new downtown Ocala restaurant

Cantina Tex-Mex and Tequila is seeking approval for liquor sales from city council to move one step closer to opening its new downtown Ocala location.

Brick City Cantina (doing business as “Cantina”) will look for approval to sell beer, wine, and liquor during the Ocala City Council’s regular meeting on Tuesday, September 14.

Located at 35 SE 1st Ave #100, the 4,309 square-foot building will feature a patio and multiple floors of interior dining space with 192 seats, according to city records.

Cantina plans to open next month and will operate with 16 employees. The business is currently hiring, according to its social media.

Multiple companies are in the planning or construction stages of new restaurants across Ocala.

On Monday, Cody’s Original Roadhouse announced that it plans to open its new southwest Ocala location in January.

In downtown Ocala, Mellow Mushroom is nearing completion of its new multi-story building while Symmetry Cafe is working with Soleil Confections on a new cafe replacing Sovereigns and Scoundrels.
