Mutiny delays opening of new pirate-themed bar in downtown Ocala

Mutiny will reschedule the grand opening of its new bar in downtown Ocala after experiencing unexpected delays.

The pirate-themed bar said through its social channels on Monday that the grand opening celebration, which was originally planned for Wednesday, will be rescheduled.

“Dear fellow punks and pirates, we’ve had some unexpected delays and we will be unable to open this Wednesday” reads a post from Mutiny’s Facebook page. The bar says it will keep patrons updated on the rescheduled grand opening event.

“Until then, please keep your flags flying high and your cannonballs loaded” reads the post.

Multiple restaurants around downtown and other parts of Ocala are making brisk progress on the construction of new locations and the renovation of old ones.

Cantina is seeking approval for liquor sales during Tuesday’s Ocala City Council meeting. The new Tex-Mex restaurant and tequila bar plans to open next month at 35 SE 1st Avenue, Unit 100, in downtown Ocala.

Cody’s Original Roadhouse celebrated a ground breaking on Tuesday morning for a new southwest Ocala location that it hopes to open in January. The restaurant is owned and operated by a different group than the previous Cody’s in Ocala that closed prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
