A 28-year-old Ocala man was arrested after allegedly attacking officers who were responding to a call about an incident of domestic violence.
On Sunday, September 12, deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a southwest Ocala residence in response to a call about domestic violence.
Upon arrival, deputies were told by the victim that Colton Jenkins was asleep inside the residence. According to the report, Jenkins awoke a short time later and began yelling profanities at the deputies.
The report indicates that Jenkins told one of the deputies to “come in my house” while motioning his hands to enter. When the deputy began entering the front door, Jenkins allegedly pushed him in the chest area.
The deputy attempted to grab Jenkins wrist and arm and place him in handcuffs. During their attempts to secure him in handcuffs, Colton allegedly tensed and stiffened his arms. While they were escorting him to the vehicle, Jenkins allegedly tried to pull away several times.
Jenkins was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with battery on an officer and resisting arrest. He had a bond set at $6,000, which he posted the following day.
