Ocala woman arrested after fleeing traffic stop, ditching cocaine in police car

An Ocala woman was arrested after fleeing a traffic stop and trying to hide drugs in a police vehicle while en route to the Marion County Jail.

On Monday, September 6, an officer with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office attempted to pull over a vehicle that was traveling in excess of 100 mph in the area of SE 115th Avenue and E Highway 25.

Despite the deputy activating his emergency lights and siren, the vehicle made no attempt to stop and ran through a stop sign.

The vehicle eventually stopped and the deputy made contact with 26-year-old Ashley Query. Query was detained and placed under arrest for fleeing and eluding.

According to the report, Query allegedly stashed a small blue bag containing a white powdery substance in the back of the vehicle while being transported. The report says the deputy warned Query that he searches his vehicle before and after every transport.

The substance field tested positive for cocaine.

Query faces charges of possession of cocaine and fleeing/eluding police. Her bond was set at $7,000 and she is next due in court on October 12 at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
