An Ocala woman was arrested on her third battery charge this year after allegedly attempting to get a victim to strike her first.

A deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 4 a.m. on Sunday, September 19 regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence in Marion County.

Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with 50-year-old Dawn Schroeder, who advised there had been a domestic altercation between her and a victim.

According to the report, the victim says that Schroeder yelled and pushed him in an attempt to get him to attack her. A witness corroborated the victim’s statement.

When questioned, Schroeder told the deputy she had video proof that there was no physical altercation. She provided the deputy with still images that were photographed during daylight hours, according to the report.

A computer check revealed that Schroeder had previous battery convictions in 2016 and 2019. She has been arrested three times in 2021 and a total of ten times since 2012.

After she was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail on Sunday, Schroeder faked an asthma attack and refused to exist the vehicle. She was carried into the jail’s intake facility where she continued to yell at deputies, according to the report.

Schroeder’s bond is set at $6,000 and she is next due in court on October 19 at 9 a.m.
