Nearly $500,000 was donated by over 2,000 individuals during this year’s 24-hour Give4Marion event.
The second installment of the event generated approximately $493,460 for 75 different non-profit organizations, according to preliminary numbers posted through the Give4Marion website.
As of noon on Wednesday, a total of 2,134 donors have made individual donations.
The top overall recipient was Interfaith Emergency Services, which received $40,992 from 69 individual donors. Among the 75 organizations that received donations, a dozen and a half eclipsed the $10,000 mark.
Project Hope of Marion County received $35,513 from 80 donors, the Transitions Life Center & Community, Inc. received $29,325 from 61 donors, and Marion County Literacy Council received $27,286 from 228 donors.
Dozens others eclipsed the $5,000 mark.
Last year during the inaugural event, 81 participating nonprofit organizations received more than $310,000 from 1,200 unique donors.
