He was born on November 1, 1939 in Gainesville, Florida. After graduating from Gainesville High School in 1957, he received degrees from the University of Florida in 1962 and in 1972. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Monte Adkison, brother-in-law John Adkison, sister-in-law Cindy Alyeac(Mike), mother-in-law Mary Alice Adkison, and nephew Tyler Maeger (Powder Springs, Georgia).
He was an active member of the Ocala Elks Lodge. His love of children, animals, and the Florida Gators was only surpassed by his love of his large circle of close friends that he enjoyed being with. Anyone wishing to make charitable donations in his honor is requested to make contributions to HUGS (www.hugscharities.org) or Take Stock in Children. (pefmc.org)
