The victim says that during the argument, Gonzalez struck her with an open hand multiple times. She says that although she struck Gonzalez back in self-defense, he continued to batter her inside the home in the presence of her children.

The victim says that during the alleged altercation, Gonzalez attempted to gouge her eyes, pushed her into a kitchen table, and pinned her on the ground.

While he was on top of her, Gonzalez allegedly choked the victim until she pretended to be unconscious. When he let up, the victim says she was able to gain the upper hand and then pinned Gonzalez to the ground, which ended the confrontation.

The report notes that the officer observed scratches to the victim’s neck and right arm, as well as bruising around her left, front shoulder.

Gonzalez was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail where he faces a misdemeanor charge for domestic battery. He is out on bond, and a court date has been scheduled for Friday, October 29 at 9:00 a.m., according to jail records.
