Marion County schools report $51 million in expenditures through first month of school year

Marion County Public Schools reported over $51 million in expenditures through the first month of the school year.

The new budget figures will be presented to the Marion County School Board for approval during its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 12.

Records reflect expenditures and revenue through July and August.

District schools incurred $51,642,526 in expenditures and generated approximately $48,573.637 in revenue, which is comprised of contributions from local, state, and federal agencies.

The largest expenditure in August was employee benefits and salaries. The county spent approximately $24,630,528 for benefits and salaries through August 31, 2021, according to the report.
