A 76-year-old Ocala woman was arrested after allegedly striking an elderly man in the head with a cane after she discovered he was watching pornography on his phone.
On Monday, October 18 around 11:30 p.m., a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to an Ocala residence after reports of a battery.
The deputy arrived at the residence and spotted the male victim laying on the ground. Due to a medical disability in his legs, the victim was unable to get up without assistance.
After helping the victim into a chair, the victim stated he had an altercation with Patria Tejada-Rosado after she discovered him watching pornography on his phone.
He stated he was sitting in the living room when Tejada-Rosado walked up behind him and started yelling.
According to the victim, Tejada-Rosado grabbed him by the arm, retrieved his wooden cane, and began striking him in the head.
He stood up in an attempt to push Tejada-Rosado away, but he stated that he fell to the floor.
The deputy observed bleeding and swelling on top of the victim’s head, injuries that the deputy did not feel were caused by a fall.
Another deputy spoke with Tejada-Rosado, and she stated that she got angry when she saw the victim watching pornography. She admitted to an argument which became physical, though she denied hitting the victim with a cane.
Tejada-Rosado was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail. She faces a felony charge for aggravated battery.
She is currently being held without bond and a court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
