Ocala Drive-In hosting free movie night in honor of Red Ribbon Week

The Ocala Drive-In will host a free movie night in honor of Red Ribbon Week.

The free event will take place tonight, October 22, starting at 5 p.m. at the drive-in, which is located at 4850 S Pine Avenue in Ocala.

The show will begin at dusk and will include showings of four popular movies, including the original Space Jam, Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, and Jungle Cruise.

The evening will feature free Sno cones, vendor booths, interactive displays, a bounce house, and free swag bags while supplies last.

Cars will be spaced out accordingly to allow for social distancing, according to a post from the Ocala Police Department.

Red Ribbon Week takes place each year from October 23 through October 31 and is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually across the country. It began as a tribute to fallen DEA special agent Enrique Camerena, who was killed by members of a Mexican cartel in 1985.
