Marion County Chili Cook-Off returns to Ocala this weekend

The Marion County Chili Cook-Off returns to Ocala this weekend for its 40th installment.

The cook-off event will be held at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion this Saturday, November 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Awards will be given out beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Since 1981, the Marion County Cook-Off has served as an annual fundraiser to benefit The Cornerstone School.

The Cornerstone School’s mission is to hold a community event that emphasizes tradition, food, family, and fun, while creating relationships between businesses and organizations in Marion County, according to the cook-off event page.

More than 5,000 people attended the event last year and more than 40 businesses and organizations competed in the chili competition.

The funds raised from the event are used for the school’s general needs, including technology, safety, and school-wide improvements.

For more information on how to sponsor the event, host a chili team, participate in the car show, or just attend, visit the Marion County Chili Cook-off website or contact The Cornerstone School at 352-851-8840.
