Boil water advisory no longer in effect for parts of southeast Ocala

The City of Ocala Water Resources officials have rescinded the precautionary boil water advisory which was previously in effect for the 3750 to 4800 block between S Pine Avenue and SE 17th Avenue.

According to city officials, the water is now safe for brushing teeth, cooking, drinking, making ice, washing dishes, food preparation, and other normal daily activities.

The lines in the affected area were flushed, several samples were collected, and tests showed no sign of bacteria for two consecutive days. The chlorine residual also meets regulatory standards.
