Construction underway for 125-room hotel coming to On Top of the World

Construction is underway for a new TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotel that is coming to southwest Ocala.

HDG Hotels broke ground last month on the hotel, which is located on State Road 200, near On Top of The World. The project is slated for completion next year.

The 125-room, extended-stay property offers the comforts of home to its visitors and features a variety of amenities and suite options.

Among the amenities is a zero-entry saltwater pool and a fitness center. Each room is stocked with a kitchenette, and there are multi-bedroom or suite options available.

Located along State Road 200, the $20 million property will be minutes away from local hospitals, the Florida Aquatic Swimming and Training (FAST) facility, and less than 15 minutes away from the World Equestrian Center.

Multiple developments are planned for nearby, all along State Road 200.

Cody’s Roadhouse announced earlier this year that it hopes to open a new location in January in the front of the hotel.

Culver’s celebrated its grand opening in October, just down the road from the new CarMax that opened its doors this summer.

Both are near the new Veterans Affairs’ Clinic, which has completed construction on its new, state-of-the-art facility.
