A crash involving a dump truck is causing delays on State Road 40 in Dunnellon.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol incident report, earlier today at around 12 p.m., a dump truck driven by a 27-year-old man crashed into a train bridge on State Road 40 near U.S. Highway 41.
The train bridge sustained damages, blocking all travel lanes on State Road 40.
The Florida Northern Train Company is heading to the scene to make the necessary repairs.
Traffic is being re-routed onto SW 180th Avenue Road. The roadway is expected to be closed for approximately an hour for bridge repairs.
Drivers are urged to use caution and to avoid the area if possible.
The driver of the tractor was not injured and his name has not been released, per FHP policy.
