Light Up Ocala returns this weekend

Light Up Ocala returns to Downtown Ocala this weekend.

The 37th installment of Light Up Ocala returns to downtown Ocala on Saturday, November 20, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The festive event will have over 100 vendors including crafts, art, and live entertainment at the following locations throughout downtown:

  • Downtown Square Stage (SE Broadway and Magnolia Avenue) will feature live music from Audio Exchange.
  • Citizens’ Circle Stage (Fort King Street and Osceola Avenue) will offer children and their families an opportunity to take socially distanced photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
  • Midtown Street Party (corner of NE 1st Street and NE 1st Avenue) will feature a live DJ, an acrobatic variety show, and powerskip shows.
  • Kids’ Zone (parking lot on NE 1st Street between N Magnolia Avenue and NE 1st Avenue) will include stilt walkers and photo opportunities.
  • Punch and Judy puppet show (corner of Fort King Street and Magnolia Avenue).
  • Living Angels (corner of Fort King Street and SE 1st Avenue).

The Junior Sunshine Parade begins at the corner of S Magnolia Avenue and E Fort King Street at 4:30 p.m. The parade will make its way through downtown, heading past the gazebo, up to NE 1st Street, then returning to SE 1st Avenue and E Fort King Street.

At 6:30 p.m., the tree lighting ceremony will begin at the Downtown Square Stage.

Guests are encouraged to use the following two parking lots since free shuttle rides will be offered throughout the event:

  • Parking lot at Marion Technical Institute (1614 E Fort King Street). A shuttle will drop guests off at the intersection of SE Watula Avenue and SE 3rd Street approximately every 20 minutes between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m.
  • Parking lot at Ocala Skate Park (517 NE 9th Street). A shuttle will drop guests off at the intersection of NE Watula Avenue and State Road 40 approximately every 10 minutes between 3:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
